Race Information FAQs

When is the Race?
The 21st Annual Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure is on Saturday, October 18, 2014.  Survivor Cafe opens at 7 a.m. and Survivors need to be at the stage area by 8:00 a.m. for the Survivor Ceremony and the race begins at 9:00 a.m.. This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds; rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to the Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure.

Can I register as a participant the day of the Race?
Yes!  You need to register by 8:30 a.m.

How about the Kids Dash?
The Kids Dash will start at the corner of River Landing Dr. and Seven Farms and head toward the Family Circle Stadium. Parents are encouraged to run with their children or have someone able to meet them at the finish line by the stadium. We encourage families to enjoy the expo and Kids Area – or head back to the start line for the 1-mile fun run at 8:45 a.m.

When and where is Packet pickup?
Team packet pickup is Wed. Oct. 15th and Thurs. Oct. 16th from 3-7 p.m. at Family Circle Stadium
Individual packet pickup is Fri. Oct. 17th from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and again on Sat. morning beginning at 7 p.m.

What is the final date for individual registration?
Participants can register online through Wednesday, October 15th at 12:00 noon.  Or on-site on October 17th from 9-6:00 p.m. or Saturday morning.

Where do I park?
If  you do not take the Shuttles there will be Police and Volunteers directing traffic and showing you where to park.  Please be patient and follow their directions.  Check out the Parking & Shuttles information page.

What time do the Shuttles run on Race day?
The shuttle bus will continuously run from the parking lot at Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre and N. Charleston Coliseum (Lot E) beginning at  6:30 a.m. The last Shuttle to depart Daniel Island will be at 11 a.m.  Participants are encouraged to use the free shuttle and to arrive early.  Shuttle riders will be given a colored wrist band which will help them find their shuttle stops.

Where do I send donations and registration fees?
Please try to register and donate online first! Please do not send cash; instead send checks or money orders. Our mailing address is as follows: Komen Lowcountry, 9300 Medical Plaza Dr., Ste. F, N. Charleston, SC  29406.  

Are pets, inline skates, bikes, motorized scooters, or skateboards allowed at the Race?
For the safety of all participants, inline skates, bikes, scooters, skateboards and pets are not allowed at the Race.  It’s safer for your pets as well.

Are strollers and wheelchairs allowed on the Race course?
Yes, however for safety reasons we require that participants using them line up behind those who are running.

How do I run competitively in the Race?
During your registration please select “Timed” within your participant type.

Can we sell merchandise for fundraising on Race day?
Teams or individuals are not allowed to sell merchandise on Race day.

Who do we make the check payable to?
Please make all checks payable to: Komen Lowcountry. On the check memo line, please include your name or your team name.

What is the registration rate for children under Kids for the Cure?
Kids for the Cure, ages 6-12, registration is $15 (late registration $20).  Children 5 and under are free although a parent must sign a waiver.

Should I bring money on Race Day?
Yes! We will be selling Komen merchandise.
